I am a technology teacher and coordinator for Parkview Elementary School in the Westville School district. I have been with this school district for 21 years. I have also taught 5th and 6th grade Social Studies and Literacy. I graduated from Glassboro State College in 1983 with a BA in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. I received my Computer Teaching Certificate from Rowan University in 2001. I am happy to have the opportunity to be part of this grant. Integrating technology with the core curriculum standards will be very exciting.

      • Reflection: This activity enhanced the Everyday Math program lesson on spreadsheets. This seasonal activity is an activity that we would do again and possibly expand the project. The students would compare total cost of gifts from previous years.
    • 2nd Quarter - Rainforest Maths

      • Reflection:This activity enhanced our Everyday Math program, giving the students another venue to practice previously learned skills and review concepts that will be covered in the future. Students enjoyed a hands-on technology presentation and lesson versus paper and pencil. The student input was extremely positive. The students, including our special needs students, were actively involved the entire 75 minutes. This was evident not only in their comments but in observing that they all stayed on task the entire time. They were very enthusiastic about using this program in the future and that they can access the program from home. We also had several teachers from National Park school observe the lesson. After seeing the students involvement, they indicated that they would get started utilizing the program and technology immediately. We all agreed that this was an excellent way to work on math concepts in a fun, involved way.
    • 3rd Quarter - Webquest
      • Webquest Site
      • Reflection: This was the second year that we used this Web quest that we created. It took us less time to complete. We were much better prepared to foresee obstacles that may arise. I still this as a very worthwhile project.
