Dear Parents and Guardians, The Gloucester County Board of Freeholders distributed an Emergency Management Guide for Domestic Preparedness. They recommended procedures to follow in case of an emergency. With the recent national developments, we would like to assure you that our school has an emergency plan in place. The school's Crisis Management Team in consultation with the Westville Police Department developed this plan.

In the event that students and staff are required to stay in school for an extended period of time, we have stored food, water, and emergency medical supplies. Please follow the recommendations of the Emergency Management Guide and listen to the radio or television for further information. In an emergency situation, students will not be released until the authorities have advised us that it is safe to do so. Following procedures will help to ensure that all students and staff remain protected.

We will be practicing "shelter in place" drills with students and staff. As opposed to a fire drill, during a "shelter in place" drill, no one is allowed to exit or enter the building. Students will be informed that drills are being done for the same reason we practice fire drills - to be prepared for the unlikely possibility of an emergency. It would be helpful if you could take the time to discuss this with your children.
